In December 2024, Tesla initiated a recall affecting approximately 700,000 vehicles, including the 2024 Cybertruck, 2017–2025 Model 3, and 2020–2025 Model Y.

The issue involved the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) warning light, which failed to remain illuminated between drive cycles. This malfunction could prevent drivers from being alerted to low tire pressure, increasing the risk of a collision.

Tesla addressed the problem by deploying a free over-the-air software update to rectify the TPMS malfunction. This approach allowed owners to receive the fix without visiting a service center, exemplifying Tesla's capability to resolve certain issues remotely.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by February 15, 2025. For more information, Tesla customer service can be reached at 1-877-798-3752 or by visiting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website.
